Fall Retreat.

Are you ready? Fall Retreat is approaching fast and there is so much in store for this year! We will be at Hume Lake Christian Camp from October 24th-26th, which means hiking through the Sierras, kayaking, paintball, high ropes, and more! There will be amazing times of learning about and connecting with God, plus plenty of opportunity to make new friends and build community!

If you are worried about price, don’t be! Cru’s donors have stepped in to help with the cost of this retreat! What is normally a $300-$400 weekend experience at Hume Lake has been lowered down to $219 for ALL of our students! And get this, if this is your first time at our Fall Retreat, then using the promo code “FIRST” will lower your cost even more…you only have to pay $135!!! In order to get these wonderful discounts, make sure you register by October 9th! These discounts will only apply until October 9th and then the price jumps to $280, so get registered now! You only have to pay a $50 deposit to register! If you need additional financial help to come, please see the scholarship section below.

All the Details

  • All meals are provided from Friday dinner to Sunday lunch (and the food is good!).

  • Weekend activities include hiking, kayaking, archery, paintball (extra payment required), and high ropes.

  • Cabin lodging is provided, but please bring a sleeping bag / blankets, a pillow, and the toiletries you need for the weekend.

  • Rides will be organized so that everyone can get there.

  • If you have food allergies or need to bring your own food, please indicate so when you register and our team will be in contact with you.

  • Make sure you register by October 9th to get the discounts.

Speaker: Matt O’Brien

Matt O'Brien serves as Cru's US Director of Graduate Student Ministry. He came to faith in Jesus while a student at Idaho State University. He and his wife, Kim, have been with Cru since 1990 serving in Florida, Colorado, Idaho, and Oregon. They've led Cru summer and spring break mission trips to Japan, Costa Rica, Belize, and Slovakia as well as Lake Tahoe and Anchorage. Matt soaks up time with his three grandkids, and he loves fly fishing, hiking, and watching Boise State University football.

Beyond the discounts above, we also offer additional scholarships for students who have financial need. Our donors generously provide these scholarships, giving everyone that wants to go to Fall Retreat the ability to attend.   • Yes, all meals are provided from Friday dinner to Sunday lunch (and the food is good!).

  • Rides will be organized so that everyone can get there.

  • Bunks will be assigned after registration but you can request 1 person to bunk with.

  • Don’t worry! Simply register with a $50 deposit by October 10th to take advantage of available discounts. Beyond these discounts, we happily offer additional scholarships for students with financial needs. Don’t let money prevent you from coming!   • Here’s a suggested packing list for this years Fall Retreat:

    • Bible, journal, and pen

    • Pillow, sleeping bag, and blanket

    • Clothes for various activities:

      • Warm clothes for cold nights

      • Athletic clothes and shoes

    • Toiletries & Medications

    • Sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses

    • Sports equipment

  • There will be free time opportunities to complete assignments throughout retreat. WiFii is limited but available if an assignment is due DURING the retreat.

  • Prices will increase to $280 on October 10th, so be sure to register now!

  • It’s a good idea to bring some extra cash for optional purchases like souvenirs or legendary milkshakes from the Hume Lake Snack Shack.

  • There is so much in store for Fall Retreat this year that students can expect! Students can expect session speaker, Vivian Mabuni, who will explore the theme of "All In." Look forward to enriching times of worship, reflection, discussion, breakout sessions, and testimonies. There will be plenty of fun outdoor activities, including bonfires, paintball, boating, and dance parties! Join us for a weekend of growth, community, and fun!
